ABSTRACT

This study was carried out in Dunchon-dong wetland from January 2007 to July 2008. Study site is designated as an ecosystem conservation area which indicates the area with high ecological and environmental values. We investigated seasonal water level and vegetation changes. Water level was related to precipitation. 195 plant species from 64 families were founded and 25 species among them were first recorded in 2008. This study proved that water level fluctuation enhances the biodiversity of plant community. This wetland can be used as a valuable reference when wetland ecosystem will be restored or constructed in the suburban area.
